So let me get this straight... The joke here is that a grown man knocks a teenage girl to the ground and hits her in the face eight times... Why exactly is this funny now?

Oh man. Really?

1. It’s not real because it’s a cartoon, and sometimes when you make fun of horrible things it makes a dreary world a little funnier. 2. Its a goof on the real show and how close it always seems to get to that point. 4. They have goofy faces and funny voices 5. It’s totally unrealalistic and being made to look like this is normal; which it is not (somewhat clever) 6. The joke is not him hitting her its the family’s reaction at the end (the oh my God what did they just do on TV look)

I find shock on peoples faces very funny. You may not but we are different people and I'm fine with that.

I apologize that you do not find it funny. Try to have a lighter heart; it would be a sad world if we always looked for fault in everything. I seriously doubt that the writers meant for people to approve of child beating, or beating of any sort.
Its good brain candy in a world that is far too serious.

Huh.

Call me uptight, but I've just never found jokes that use violence against women as a setup very funny. Guess I just don't have sense of humor.

Just out of curiosity, let's say that the scene was a little different and instead of a teenage girl, the person getting knocked to the ground and beaten up was... oh, I don't know... a young gay man? Would it still be funny then?

Thanks for the debate. You do raise a good point about those of us who are insecure.

Really Jesse I'm not angry, or trying to be a jerk. I was just trying to make people laugh.

Peace to you
